This afternoon, I had browsed through a couple college entrance exam questions but none really stood out. They all just seemed so, I don't know, silly. I was looking for something to make me really think about myself and society. Unfortunately, time ran out and I had to get ready for soccer.
I was still trying to figure out what the best choice was when the first whistle blew. It wasn't long before I knew exactly which question I was going to write about.
The ball was passed up the side and the next thing we knew Sam was on the ground, immobile. She hit her neck hard and had lost feeling in her upper back. Soon after, an ambulance was called and she was placed on a stretcher. I was so scared; we all were. It wasn't until she became inanimate that I understood which question I had to pick.
Now the question isn't exactly relevant to what happened, I know, but it made me really think about my team and the bond we share. We push each other to work harder and are always there to support one another. It made me think of all of the unnoticed things in life, the little things. The little things are what make us better. It's a pat on the back; a door held open; a shoulder to lean on. The little things most always go unnoticed but, yet, they are things, gestures, we can't live without.
From the University of Wisconsin-Madison: Consider something in your life you think goes unnoticed and write about why it's important to you.
